Throne Of Glass
With a lot of persuading. Talking about this author and her books, I gave into my daughter and decided to start reading book one.
Sarah J. Maas, American fantasy Author. With over 40 million books sold world wide, and translated into 38 languages. She wrote her first book at age 16. "What if Cinderella was an assassin, not a servant" To become an incredible writer, one must first have a dream and an intense imagination, plus the ability to put it all together in a coherent language.
Book one. Throne Of Glass.
My Sunday was a complete write off. I am not complaining. It's been so long since I lost myself in a page turner of a book. Sure, I've listened to audio books, it doesn't hit the same. To have the book in front of you, to be able to go back and re read a section, pause and think about what is happening. To simply take your time, envision every person, landmark every meal that is taking place, every event, all the clothes or lack there of, on the pages in front of you.
I am almost done book one, and I have fallen in love the 3 main characters.
Dorrian, Choal and of course Celaena
Some books start off slow then have a gradual incline. Not Glass of Throne, I was hook line and sinker after the first few paragraphs. That takes a talented writer to draw you that quick. Right away it took me back to Game Of Thrones. As I started reading more and more, it has taken quite a different turn.
The genre is a little different than what I normally read. It's been a nice surprise, from that of historical fiction. I will Keep everyone updated as I continue to read. Just like any other bookworm, when I get deep into a good book, I tune out everything from the outside, and become the main character of the story. After I have finished the series I will do a book review and share my thoughts.
As for me right now, I must sign off and continue my latest addiction, and return the fantasy realm of myths, magic and love.
Throne Of Glass,
Carrie
